Situated on the Morainic Hills of the Upper Mantuan Area, just a few kilometres to the south of the Lake Garda, Castiglione delle Stiviere lies on the ridge of the Belvedere hill (200 metres above the sea level). The Lake Garda is very close and Castiglione faces it creating panoramic views also towards the Emilian Appennine (“Parmense”). The town where the idea of the Red Cross and St. Luigi Gonzaga were born houses old monuments, churches, museums and buildings which are all tangible signs of a glorious past. That is why a trip to Castiglione delle Stiviere is useful for anyone who also wants to discover the attractive places surrounding it (not only the Lake Garda but also Verona, Mantua and Brescia).
